The P816A digital pyroelectric sensor uses a dedicated human body infrared processing integrated circuit as the built-in processing chip. This integrated circuit has the overall function of a traditional passive infrared pyroelectric motion detector. The thermal motion signal detected by the pyroelectric sensor is used for access by the high input impedance input of the smart digital chip. The pyroelectric signal is converted into a 15-bit digital signal for digital band-pass filtering. The processed signal is The externally set sensitivity is compared with the timing digital threshold. If the pyroelectric digital signal exceeds the corresponding set threshold, there will be a delayed REL output.   1. Output REL trigger mode

When the sensor receives an external signal and the effective signal processed by the digital filter exceeds the internal trigger threshold, a count pulse is generated internally. When the sensor receives such a signal again, a second pulse will be generated internally. If two pulses are received within 4 seconds, the EL pin will have a high level output. If the received signal amplitude exceeds 5 times of the trigger threshold, only one pulse can trigger the REL pin to output a high level. The delay time of output REL starts from the last valid pulse.

4. Delay time adjustment
The voltage applied to the ONTIME pin determines the time that the REL output remains active after the last alarm. If multiple alarm conditions are detected during the output time period, the timer will restart as long as the alarm conditions are detected.

5. Trigger threshold of sens pin

The input voltage on the sens pin determines the comparison threshold of the input signal of the sensor. When the sensor is grounded, the comparison threshold of the sensor is the lowest, and the sensitivity of the sensor is the highest, that is, the sensing distance may be the farthest; When the input voltage exceeds 1 / 4 VDD, the maximum threshold will be selected, and the sensor sensitivity is the lowest, that is, the sensing distance may be the smallest. The sensing distance of the sensor is not linear with the voltage on the sens pin. Combined with different Fresnel lenses and different sensitivities, the sensing distance is subject to the actual test.

Attention
1. Pyroelectric infrared sensor is to detect infrared energy changes and output signal, for non human infrared energy changes will also have signal output, such as small animals, sunlight and other strong light direct, air conditioning can cause temperature changes. For the heat source that does not move or moves at a high speed, when the ambient temperature is close to the temperature of human body, the sensor will not output the signal when the infrared signal output by human body does not fluctuate enough.
2. The sensor optical window direction combined with Fresnel lens reasonable installation, can achieve the ideal detection distance and angle, the design should pay attention to the selection of appropriate lens, and avoid the sensor metal shell directly exposed in the external flowing air.
3.In the process of use, excessive vibration should be avoided as far as possible. The optical window should be kept clean, and there should be no hard objects or other debris friction, which will cause performance failure or instability.

4. During the welding process of sensor, the following items should be followed as far as possible:

Please do not exceed the maximum temperature of the temperature curve shown in the figure above, otherwise the performance of the sensor may be degraded.
Please do not repeatedly carry out reflow welding and repeatedly heating disassembly and repair, which will seriously affect the life and performance of the sensor and is not within the scope of product warranty.
Please do not use corrosive chemicals to clean the optical filter (absolute alcohol can be used), which may cause sensor failure or failure.
Please do not use the sensor immediately after mounting. It is recommended to use it after 1h.
Please avoid touching the terminal with metal sheet or hand.
Please follow the temperature curve shown in the following figure when reflow welding. Any temperature exceeding the reflux temperature shown in the following figure shall be consulted with sales engineer in advance
